After 2 years of Constant Covid Alarmism, trends in overall pediatric mortality confirm what rational, informed child advocates have been saying since 2020: a real crisis was being ignored while a merely perceived crisis was being perpetuated.

While hospitalizations by cause data lag significantly, this trend was already observable as early as 2021. See my previous post:

A new paper in JAMA shows :

“…this reversal in the pediatric mortality trajectory was caused not by COVID-19, but by injuries. In 2020, the COVID-19 mortality rate at ages 1 to 19 years was 0.24 deaths per 100 000, but the absolute increase in injury deaths alone was nearly 12 times higher”
